finally saw Midnight Cowboy. pretty excellent. really interesting that it ended on a bus like another great Hoffman movie from that era in The Graduate. The trans person in it looked like Chelsea Manning.

King's "Different Seasons" has to be a record right? Three good to great movie adaptations from a single book?

Yeah, always seems like his shorter works adapt better (or are adapted better) to the big screen.

Different Seasons is the only King book I've ever read and I read it when I was in high school. I honestly do not recall any of the 4 stories at all. I remember the book cover, but nothing contained therein. I remember that it left no impression on me and I was never interested in reading another King book. I was much more interested in Asimov and Heinlein and the tons of good SF short stories out there.. My brother is a fan of King though. It's one of the few things he'll read that isn't work related.

Oh, and I keep waiting for Stranger in a Strange Land to be made into a film. I remember 25 or so years ago it was going to be made with Tom Hanks as Valentine Smith and Sean Connery as Jubal. I was so excited, but then the project was dropped.

OMG, I haven't checked in years, but it looks like there might be a TV series coming.

Apt Pupil. Ian McKellan plays the Nazi.

The comebacks.... not knowing this movie ever existed for the past ten years may arguably be a greater tragedy than the 9% it got on rotten tomatoes. Great flick. Honestly, any movies with carl weathers you know is going to be good. The most underrated actor of our time.

Seriously, the appreciation Mr. Weathers has for artistic integrity of the roles he plays and movies he's in can not be understated. There are so many guys who simply sold out for the paycheck and lost their way. You know, the Robert DeNiro, Johnny Depp, and Harrison Fords' of the world. They may have houses all over the world and famous trophy wives and girlfriends, but it's only carl that stays true to the craft.

The Front Page was originally a play. But there were at least three movies including the best, His Girl Friday with Cary Grant and Heddy Lamarr. Boffo!

The Walter Matthau Jack Lemmon jawn was also really good.
