Maybe I'm just the right age, but I love all of the Trip movies with Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon. The Trip to Spain is definitely no exception. Not sure the dramatic framework really works, but I definitely laughed hard and frequently.

not enough jiu jitsu & judo in John Wick 2 for my taste, mostly just a bunch of drama-less gunplay. 3 outta 5 stars.

wick 1 is the superior wick. no emotional investment in the story i have no idea what it was about honestly. it still looked cool at least.

there was definitely some cool sets and okay camera work, especially in Rome, but it's like watching GI Joe. All these world class assassins are all terrible shots except for Wick.

also kinda funny contrast that the previews included a movie where Keanu gets beat up by 2 girls.

Wick I was cinematic masterpiece. Wick II was ok.

Finally saw King Kong: Skull Island. I would just like to point out that history shows again and again how nature points up the folly of men.

the Everybody Wants Some Linklater movie fits perfectly into his universe. probably towards the bottom rank for movies in that universe, but I liked watching it. thought the baseball scenes were pretty good too. that mustache dude seemed to be real skilled.

It was entertaining for most of it and then went from from very silly to extremely silly.I mean, the scene with the chains, what was that, other than a way to extend a fight scene five more minutes? John c. Reilly was dropped in from another movie but had a number of good scenes. It was dumb in all the ways Hollywood films are dumb, including having the two stars somehow slog through the jungle without even scuffing their jeans, but had enough good visuals and interesting ways of people being skewered to hold one's interest until it fell apart. At which point hopefully you''re having fun laughing at it. If not, you're just shaking your head for the last twenty minutes.

Agree. I didn't know who wrote/directed beforehand but right away picked up on the Sicario vibe. Not as much action as Sicario but much more disturbing.

Any King fans? Think IT did a really great job with the source material, with terrific performances from pretty much everybody.

Can't wait for the next one.

Avoided the Dark Tower after seeing some reviews and hearing bad things from several friends, even though the DT series is my heart...

I generally think Stephen King is pretty solid to good. I definitely want to see IT. Heard a good review of it yesterday.

tbf the only thing I've read from him is short stories. I was talking King translated to movies. this one short story of his I read was about this white author is living in a hotel, and a black woman who is his maid. Every day when she came to his room to clean after he had left for the day, there was a cum stain on the mattress sheets. I'm not sure how or why, but eventually she started to lick the cum stain every day when she came to the room. Fast forward a few decades later, and she had a bi-racial son who was a world famous & highly regarded author. the obvious implication was that there was some sort of immaculate conception from licking cum off of mattress sheets.
