I legitimately think we are doomed. If DHS is ignoring the courts, which has been reported, we now have unchecked, unilateral power in the hands of the Executive Branch. You cannot convince me that isn't a significant problem. Court/justice system is what makes this country...this country.

Your pessimism refuses to be bottom paged.

I'm bolstered by the lawyers holed up in airports around this country. Donald Trump's Presidency is only 1% done (if he finishes his term) and he's already in deep shit. I'm going to keep faith.

I'm not sure if he's saying that 109 is low or high...

who cares about 109 people amirite?!

but isn't this all because he got afraid of one guy (a US citizen!) in Florida that shot up a nightclub? Oh, and the statement was specifically about MUSLIM immigration. December 7th, 2015...but I guess we shouldn't have taken him literally:

(New York, NY) December 7th, 2015, -- Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country's representatives can figure out what is going on. According to Pew Research, among others, there is great hatred towards Americans by large segments of the Muslim population. Most recently, a poll from the Center for Security Policy released data showing "25% of those polled agreed that violence against Americans here in the United States is justified as a part of the global jihad" and 51% of those polled, "agreed that Muslims in America should have the choice of being governed according to Shariah." Shariah authorizes such atrocities as murder against non-believers who won't convert, beheadings and more unthinkable acts that pose great harm to Americans, especially women.

Mr. Trump stated, "Without looking at the various polling data, it is obvious to anybody the hatred is beyond comprehension. Where this hatred comes from and why we will have to determine. Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in Jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life. If I win the election for President, we are going to Make America Great Again." - Donald J. Trump

Google put a drawing of Fred Korematsureceiving the Presidential medal of freedom as their little google doodle. His case was the one that decided the 'legality' of interning Japanese Americans. He knowingly violated the order and was arrested and convicted.

the sharp rise in fingerpointing at this schlub Steven Miller suggests to me Bannon needs to feed a body to his 'enemies', and Sessions' former buttboy has been 'volunteered'.

I mean he's perfect: young/green, not "really" in the inner circle, a risk to Bannon's influence - and a Jew!

I hate to say it, but this is close to what I was thinking when Trump started reorganizing things a while ago. The checks in the system are being eliminated.

I really don't see how anyone who claims to be an American can do anything BUT oppose it. And as I wrote in my email, silence is tantamount to support.

Senator Tooomey

I am saddened and disheartened to find you still silent on the issue of President Trump's executive order banning entry to the US for those from majority-Muslim countries, particularly Syrian refugees. Such a ban does not reflect the ideals we as Americans profess to uphold. We claim to be strong in the face of adversity and courageous towards a threat of danger. The ban is a clear action showing the opposite. It is an act based on fear of the other and fear of making the hard choices we know to be right. If you claim to represent me, an OIF II Veteran who proudly served when called upon to do so, you will speak out in dissent of this ban. Your silence on the issue is tantamount to your support, and your support will show you to be on the wrong side of history as those who signed The Chinese Exclusion Act or opposed the Jewish refugees fleeing Germany. Please, do the right thing, not the easy or expedient thing.

This is good, (and I don't know if anyone's said this in the following couple of pages) but please call also. I don't know a lot of former staffers but ones that I do say that emails are generally handled by interns and might be cataloged but are not looked at in detail or used for decision near term decision making. They do catalog phone calls and often want reports of them daily/weekly.

I'm not sure if he's saying that 109 is low or high...

he finished his thought:

“Only 109 people out of 325,000 were detained and held for questioning. Big problems at airports were caused by Delta computer outage, protesters and the tears of Senator Schumer,” Trump wrote Monday morning in a pair of posts to Twitter. “[Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly] said that all is going well with very few problems. MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN!”

“There is nothing nice about searching for terrorists before they can enter our country. This was a big part of my campaign. Study the world!” the president added in a follow-up post minutes later.

this was Schumer's terrible, horrible, anti-american quote:
“Even for those who might be for it – and I am certainly opposed – the slapdash way it was done was appalling and created the chaos,” he said. “We should repeal this.”

study the world, chuck!

Lyft's million dollar ACLU donation after Uber's CEO joins Trump's economic council and 'breaks' the JFK picket line is pretty amazing/hilarious.

I loathe Trump as much as anyone, but the kneejerk criticism of Uber here is both wrong and distracting from the real problems.

Grinding out your "protect the taxi drivers" sentiment isn't helpful here.

If you attach a Trump factor to every one of your petty gripes, you dilute the power of critical response to the important flaws in his actions

you shouldn't be interfering with the free market by trying to get in the way of Uber and Lyft's CORPORATE FREEDOM, sir
