i also think it would've been cool for her to go to a march but it would've then been warped into a 'look at hillary not giving up the election' or 'look at her trying to take credit for the march' etc etc no win situation for her right now. best thing is what she's doing, imo.

she'll do advocacy after this but she's done politically and i would think done making anything 'about her' as far as that goes. i would think she'll stump for the eventual nominee in 2020 in states that would merit it.

well yeah, and we probably should readjust our expectations. not saying dems should just roll over of course.

you are definitely right that she is in a lose/lose situation right now, where a certain section of the left will be mad at her no matter what she does.

fwiw, 'resistance' takes time. the flood of crap isn't going to be plugged up in a week's time. the courts have to work, activists have to turn action into reclaiming seats of power, etc. it's going to get worse. keeping outrage up is good but 'doing something' is going to be slow and boring. the calls/letters are a great start.

it took 8 years for the Republicans exorcise the Kenyan Usurper but they laid a lot of groundwork inbetween that.


edit: i'm limited but you guys can do whatever you want. run for something! get on your local democratic committee and help steer the conversation. seriously. my wife is now the committee member for our precinct; she replaced NO ONE. lots of people don't even bother.

I find myself agreeing with a lot of the DSA platform. unfortunately due to how far right the GOP has gone, a strong democratic socialist response is one of our best hopes

i do agree that many of the most prominent socialist/leftist voices on twitter can be abrasive and confrontational. i like the @LarryWebsite guy a lot-- he's a religious leftist, pretty rare combo imo
