Executive order has been signed pulling out of TPP, making it harder for women to get abortions and freezing government hiring (exceot for the military obviously).

A November 2015 article penned by Barney Frank:
Again, part of the root of the problem is voters who don’t show up. Obama supporters who abstained in 2010 and 2014 helped create the stalemate. Moderate and mainstream conservative Republicans who disagree with their party’s militantly anti-compromise wing but eschew the primaries and vote only in November make the stalemate hard to break.

Public opinion polls that show a majority of Republicans oppose the tactics of the tea party-Freedom Caucus wing do not mean much to the winners of GOP primaries in which most of that majority has not voted. However, many nonvoting conservatives committed to responsible government offer little encouragement to Republicans in the House and Senate who are understandably worried about challenges from the far right.

This is not a matter that can be resolved by greater personal efforts to promote cooperation in Washington. The problem is deeply rooted in the behavior of the voters, and, as we’re just a year away from the 2016 election now, the ballot box is the only arena where this conundrum can be resolved.

welp, we decided to not solve it, simply exacerbate it.

I guess the AP always gets the first question at these things.

Spicer did not do that.

also just lying your ass off frequently makes you sound bad. For example, he knows NOTHING about health policy, so just prattles on & on piling pathetic lie on pathetic lie. If I'm a reporter, I just doodle clown faces and report that "today, drumpf's press secretary emitted fart-smelling, word-shaped noise"

Pentagon said we are not coordinating airstrikes with Russia in Syria.

Spicer wouldn't say the same?

and now he has no clue what multilateral agreements are

holy shit, Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) on MSNBC an hour or so ago just making up shit about a) Rs "plan" for ACA replacement and b) costs of ACA. He claims "a friend", presumably in Louisiana, paid THIRTY NINE THOUSAND DOLLARS for marketplace policies for himself/his wife. That's about FIVE TIMES what a similarly situated couple would pay, with ZERO tax credit subsidy. In other words, a stupendous lie.

Cassidy's bullshit is EASY to disprove, but of course no media boneheads know how, so they just nod in silence

Why would they even have thought anyone would expect the CIA to be hooting and hollering? It's not The Arsenio Hall Show.

Whole thing is so bizarre.
