It's a dog, dog, dog, dogworld

We had to put our great dane down today.

He had been acting erratically for about a month. He would grab our kids arms in his mouth, snap at anyone getting close to his bed.

We had blood drawn two days ago and he had a dangerously low platelet count. The vet said it was likely do to cancer, internal bleeding or a brain bleed. His eyes were clouding up as well.

We had to put him down. Only two and half years old. Spent the last 10 minutes weeping uncontrollably. He was my present from my wife to me when I was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel. Was the best dog I had up until the last month, he was velcro to my leg wherever I went.

Sorry to read that LG. Our two dogs are like our kids.

Sad news.

Had to put down my buddy Milton today.

Image

He went from struggling a little with the stairs to struggling to walk on flat ground and not eating anything at all in just a few days, so we knew it was time. He was the last big thing my mom did before she passed away almost 11 years ago, so it was especially hard to say goodbye to him today. I walked in the door tonight and yelled for him thinking he'd be right there with his soccer ball wagging his tail. Having a dog is awesome, saying goodbye fucking sucks.
"Boy, you're sneaky."
