All this talk of poop is reminding me once again why I'm a cat person. Much more manageable. There are actually days that go by when I give no thought to my cat's poop at all. Don't think you can do that with a dog.

Not all that difficult to open the door and then grab the pooper scooper periodically.
Drunk and stupid is no way to be remembered but it is an easy way to forget.

Was at softball yesterday and this dog wanders into the park. Nobody knows who she is or who her human is. Since the park is just off of a busy road, we didn't want her to just continue to roam free so we leashed her up and watched her until the games were over. We hoped that someone would come looking her but nobody did. A buddy and I decided to walk her and hopefully, she would lead us to her house. The dog left the park and turned right. We walked her for about an hour, following her into different neighborhoods, asking people we saw if the recognized her and even knocked on a few doors. Finally, we had to call Animal Control and we told them we would meet them back at the ball field. We get back to the field and are waiting for AC. After about 30 minutes, the dog is whining so I decide to walk her again. This time, she leaves the park and turns left, we cross the busy street and turn down the first street. A couple houses in is a guy doing yard work. I call to him and as soon as he turns around and sees us, he recognizes the dog and points me to her house.

[Reveal] Spoiler:
The dog gets home safely!

i remember taking in this "lost" dog for almost a week. we went to all the vets and put posters up. while i was getting the dog out of the car after taking her to the park i hear a shout and it was from the owner. i loved the dog, but was happy to see it get back to its owner. tried to tell the owner the story, was basically cutoff and was told her roommate was supposed to watch the dog while she was out of town for the weekend. told her i have some food to give her for the dog. when i bring out the food, she and the dog are gone. not even a thank you. should've kept the dog. it was a nice big old bird dog.

don't know if there's a crazy cat thread.... but my cat jumped off the top shelf in my closet to an arm chair six feet away. didn't look, just came out of nowhere and did it. it was like it was flying across the room. then it spends a good 45 seconds trying to figure out how to get from the arm of the chair down to the floor.

I almost brought the dog home while I looked for the owner and if I didn't already have a dog or if I had a yard instead of an apartment, I probably would have. The owner was really old, stank of BO and old cigarettes and the house was pretty dark and beat up. Nice dog...seemed like it was well cared for regardless of the appearance of the ownership situation.
