I asked for clarification, she lived in Florida for 23 years, shouldn't she be a marlins fan?

I think I have to break things off with her.

you donkey punch that c bag and make it hurt

i'm not kidding

seriously. People who are casual fans of sports just don't understand. Someone kicking me when my team has just blown the WS due to playing much worse then they are capable of playing, are not going to seem funny to me. I'm going to want to smash their faces in. I repeat, tomorrow is going to suck.

Jokes aside, this does show a serious empathy fail. Unless she's, well, unless she's Carrie Prejean, probably not worth hanging out with.

I work with a "serious" Yankee fan who isn't a gloater. I'm sure he's psyched but he's not a petty dick about it. You're right, the casual fans are absolutely the worst.

One of my best friends in the world is a Yanks fan, and I'm happy for him. We don't talk trash to each other in the post season, cause really, unless you've struggled with your team through the off years (decade), you don't know how hard it is to come so far and not make it.

I had to hear from the "casual Yankee fans" all week. Jeter makes a routine play at short and these guys are going crazy "THERE GOES THAT GUY!!!!!"

This was when it was 7-1, I wanted to wallow in the misery early.

If I have to eat crow, I will wash it down with Tabasco if we win this game.

This is true of one of my really good friends and a bunch of colleagues whom I like and respect. It's to the point where I'll actually be kind of happy for them.

My 85-year-old Gram is a big time Yankee fan with an unbelievable mind for the game.

My solace.

A friend of mine is a bandwagon fan. Yankees, Lakers, USC, Duke, Patriots. He was at my house during the NBA Finals. Lakers win the title, he puts his arm up for a split second, then asks if anybody wants to play poker. He won't stop texting me now. You can't make this stuff up.

These are the baseball equivalent of Frenchmen who started rooting for the Nazis around 1941.
