We don't talk trash to each other in the post season, cause really, unless you've struggled with your team through the off years (decade), you don't know how hard it is to come so far and not make it.
A friend of mine is a bandwagon fan. Yankees, Lakers, USC, Duke, Patriots. He was at my house during the NBA Finals. Lakers win the title, he puts his arm up for a split second, then asks if anybody wants to play poker. He won't stop texting me now. You can't make this stuff up.
You can know that
1) he's missing the point; and
2) the joy you experienced last year is something he'll never remotely approach
It's a good trade.
Great point. While I'll always love last years team, it's really something to look at my old John Kruk, Darren Daulton, Lenny Dykstra, Pete Incaviglia, Terry Mulhollound, Curt Schilling etc. memorabilia, and think about how far we've really come? It's astounding.
I went to a game when I was 12 at the vet, where Incaviglia had 2 HRs. They lost 8-3 or something like that, but all I could think about was how great it was to see the long ball in real life.
Dad and I saw the Phils kill the D-backs this year, and Howard had a 3 run shot.
How far has this team and franchise come? That's something to be proud of every game of the season.
