I'm not sure, but the NTC might simply carry over from the old contract, because this is just an extension, rather than a new contract (unless specifically voided by the terms of the extension).

Once you waive a NTC, it's gone. This was hashed over quite a bit back in July. Lee may have had one that he waived to come to the Phillies, and it didn't even come up this time.

I love Cliff Lee. I do feel bad for him because I think he really loved being here too. I hope he truly does great out there and enjoys himself. Those fans (does Seattle have fans?) better cheer for him half as hard as we did.

Interesting quote from Amaro on Eskin tonight. He said he spoke to Lee, and Lee wasn't happy. Amaro also dropped in a "who knows, maybe our paths will cross again" comment when talking about Lee.

I think that comment would mean more in the sense of in the World Series than meaning Lee would be on the Phillies' roster again any time soon.

There is an article on ESPN.com about the Sox getting Lackey and Cameron. The video that plays when you open the article is a Roy Halladay video. We are the kings people.

I can see why Lee would be upset. You leave one of the best fan bases in baseball and arguably the best team in the NL for Seattle. It probably sucks.

Except it had that smug sound to it. Like he knew something nobody else did.

We are the kings.

And BP will still project us to finish 12 games behind the Mets

Another thing or two about Lackey and the Sox. Lackey showed up to his presser in jeans, an untucked shirt, and no tie. Halladay shows up in a pressed white shirt, suit, and a Phillies red tie. Redneck vs. class.

Also, ESPN barely talked about Lackey and Cameron signing, which are both pretty big deals, even more so because they went to the Red Sox. For the past three days it was all Phillies all the time. Again, we are the kings.

And I'm thinking the Upset of the Forever is us not having a "Halladay is a Phillies" thread.

Does Halladay still mix in the palmball? Or is he strictly fastball/cutter/curve now?

As the dust begins to settle, one thing in particular that's bothering me is the feeling that we treated Cliff Lee -- a class act -- pretty shabbily. Kind of like kicking your wife out of the house without notice because the hottie down the street who you've been lusting after just said she'd sleep with you. It just feels like bad karma to me.

Maybe he shouldn't have crossed Smuggy. Maybe he should have just taken whatever the Phils offered him and been happy with it.

Seriously, I hope he has a great season, wins the AL Cy Young and cashes in. He deserves it. I hope he re-signs with Seattle for lots of money.
no offense but you are everything that's wrong with America

Yeah, you're probably right. It's been a long day and I'm tired.
