And Heyman took it the Lee portion of his tweet back.

Jays get Aumont, Triunfel, Moore and Brown

Phillies got Halladay and 10M

Seattle got Lee and Accardo

In all seriousness, and because I've lost track, has anyone other than FOXSports.com said Lee? Everything else has said "maybe" or "likely"?

I think you need to wait and find out who we actually traded. No team has confirmed anything. It's just a bunch of douchebags on TV guessing.

If Lee is traded and we give up nothing, it's a lateral move for next year and a good one for 2011. If Lee is traded and we still give up anything, with his salary and production last season, it's a terrible deal. Toronto has no leverage at all here.

No, it would not be a lateral move because Halladay is better than Lee.

What is the difference in 35 starts between them? A win, maybe a half win?

That doesn't thrill me.

It will in 2011 when Lee is gone.

Joe and Victorino are probably both gone as well, and will be making comparable salaries next year.

Nobody has concretely said anything other than "likely" Lee.

That doesn't work from a Mariners prospective. They're giving up a reliever and two really good prospects for a mid-rotation starter and whatever Bastardo is.

What if you flip Taylor (or Brown) for Bastardo in the scenario?

Better, but how much better depends on how you value Taylor/Brown vs. the OF prospect/s they'd be parting with.

Basically I don't see a way it works for Seattle without Lee.

Heyman's article from about an hour ago suggested that we'd be keeping prospects from Seattle plus Halladay and sending our prospects to the Jays.

And whyTF would the Phils have to give up Brown? Tell Toronto to fuck itself and enjoy its two draft picks.

Hearing that an official announcement for the Halladay deal, barring physicals and Doc extension, would come Wednesday at the earliest.

My Scratch Pad V2:

To SEA: Blanton

To TOR: Aumont, Brown, Happ

To PHI: Halladay + Reliever + Cash

From Phillies perspective: Blanton, Happ, Brown for Hallday, Reliever & Cash.

Keep Lee, Drabek & Taylor.

Would Blanton fetch Aumont?

Well, I'll be disappointed if Lee's involved. I'll be pissed if Lee and Brown are involved.

The only thing I can figure is that Taylor/Brown offer more power than Gillies and the Mariners are light on power hitters.

Caught the tail end of that ESPNEWS interview with Kurkjian. As Kenny was transitioning to commercial he said "maybe Lee to Seattle, although it could be JA Happ"

LOL. As if the two are interchangable.

At this point, Seattle's going to be pissed if it doesn't get Lee.

Will Carroll:

According to multiple reports, Roy Halladay has been dealt to the Philadelphia Phillies as part of a three team deal. The Phillies will send Cliff Lee to the Seattle Mariners. There are also “a ton of smaller pieces” in this deal, players which I’m told are “top prospects” and “major league guys.”

Discuss and I’ll update as the news comes in.

UPDATE: Jim Bowden (yes, that one) is reporting that Phillipe Aumont (SEA) and Dominic Brown (PHI) are two of the prospects involved. It’s still unclear if both will end up in Toronto, though that’s the clear implication.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can
