It's Done? Roy Halladay traded to Phils, Lee (?) to Mariners

The internet is a hell of a place. To think, some people are getting paid to make up these shitty rumors.

If Blanton AND Happ leave, and we retain Lee, would we then have enough money to keep Lee to an extension aswell?

My Scratch Pad:

To SEA: Blanton + Bastardo?

To TOR: Aumont, Gillies, Taylor, Happ

To PHI: Halladay + Reliever + Cash

From Phillies perspective: Blanton +, Happ, Taylor for Hallday, Reliever & Cash.

Keep Lee, Drabek & Brown.

PHILADELPHIA (AP)—A person with knowledge of the situation says Toronto pitcher Roy Halladay(notes) is in Philadelphia to take a physical for the Phillies, a necessary step before the teams finalize a trade.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the teams had not made any announcement.

Philadelphia could give up pitchers J.A. Happ(notes), Joe Blanton(notes) and outfielder Dominic Brown as part of a deal, the person said.

Now THAT I can get behind...

Ms beat writer on ESPNews: "I believe it is Cliff Lee right now"

Prospects going back the other way--Aumont and Gilles (sp?). Not sure if to Phils or Jays. Sean Kelly, Brandon Morrow "might come up"

Has not heard anything about Happ :x

Tyson Gillies. I remember watching the Futures game where he was being interviewed. Nice story; he's partially deaf and is supposedly one of the fastest players in the minors.

Yeah, I looked at his #s on Baseball Cube. Draws walks, steals bases, some pop and just 20 at high-A last year so better stuff might be coming.

Meanwhile, here's Lauber:

(UPDATED, 5:22 p.m.): FoxSports.com has chimed in with a confirmation that an “agreement is now in place” for a three-way deal that would bring Halladay to Philly, send Lee to Seattle and land prospects in Toronto. From conversations I’ve had today, it doesn’t sound like anything will be official tonight because, with a deal this complicated, it takes time for medical records to be exchanged and reviewed. Also, we haven’t received word on which prospects will be headed where. One report indicated Michael Taylor would be headed to the Jays. Another mentioned Domonic Brown as the prospect who will be traded by the Phillies. For those of you who are wondering why the Phillies have to trade Lee in order to get Halladay, or why they’d be willing to do so, I’m planning a longer, more analytical post later tonight. Please check back for that.

If you're Toronto, do you need both Gillies and Taylor or Brown?

I think you need to wait and find out who we actually traded. No team has confirmed anything. It's just a bunch of douchebags on TV guessing.

If Lee is traded and we give up nothing, it's a lateral move for next year and a good one for 2011. If Lee is traded and we still give up anything, with his salary and production last season, it's a terrible deal. Toronto has no leverage at all here.

No, it would not be a lateral move because Halladay is better than Lee.

What is the difference in 35 starts between them? A win, maybe a half win?

That doesn't thrill me.

It will in 2011 when Lee is gone.

Well that deal is pretty good. And it makes them hella good for next year and beyond.

That doesn't work from a Mariners prospective. They're giving up a reliever and two really good prospects for a mid-rotation starter and whatever Bastardo is.

Seattle moved Aumont to the bullpen. They don't seem to have any idea what they're doing with him or Morrow.

I think we need to be realistic about this. We're trading Lee. The question at this point is what else is going and what if anything is coming back.
I know what you're asking yourself and the answer is yes. I have a nick name for my penis. Its called the Octagon, but I also nick named my testes - my left one is James Westfall and my right one is Doctor Kenneth Noisewater.

What if you flip Taylor (or Brown) for Bastardo in the scenario?

Yeah, it's too light on the Seattle side, I know. Would they want Vic? Who else might it be?
