that would represent about two-three times what we wouldn't give up for him in teh summer

My only fear is Amaro's infatuation with Roy means getting clouded and giving up too much. That said, who knows. He's (pleasantly) surprised us before.

If Lee is traded and we give up nothing, it's a lateral move for next year and a good one for 2011. If Lee is traded and we still give up anything, with his salary and production last season, it's a terrible deal. Toronto has no leverage at all here.

That would assume the Phils get zero back for Lee. If they're going to trade Drabek & Brown, they don't need to trade Lee (assuming they get $$ back from the Jays and get Doc to defer some 2010 salary).

Look, nobody knows nothing for sure right now. But I guarantee if they trade Lee, they're not going to send all the prospects they get from Seattle plus Drabek plus Brown to the Jays. Other than finances, the reason to send Lee to the M's is so you don't have to give up both Drabek and Brown.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the teams had not made any announcement.
