I thought he was like 35 years old at this point, but on the other hand he's a name that's been around for so long in the Phillies system I am willing to believe anything about him. He's like retired by now, right? I can't keep it all straight anymore.

 CJ's 23 and was in the system all of 1.5 years. Currently riding the pine for the Kansas Jayhawks.

Still waiting.

Still not convinced the Phillies are only ending up with Halladay. If the Phillies end up with Morrow too, then it changes everything

Salisbury on DNL just said that the Phils, within the last 12 hours, moved off their reluctance to trade either Drabek or Brown.

If that's true, this is officially a bad move. You can't trade Donald + Marson + Carrasco + Knapp for Lee in July, only to trade Lee and Brown and maybe others for Halladay in December. If you really wanted Halladay in the first place, go get him in July.

Local ESPN radio reports Morrow is not part of the deal. First caller remarks that Lee isn't a guy the Mariners need -- they need bats. Radio guy pretty much points out the caller is an idiot but does so in a nice way.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can

If Lee is traded, I hope we lose to him and Felix in the World Series, while Moyer claps from his expensive luxury box that he bought with the money from his second year.

Don't bolt it too tight. Ruben might need it to complete the deal.

...One person familiar with the talks said he didn't anticipate an announcement on Monday, an indication that the customary review of medical records is not yet complete.

...Halladay in currently in Philadelphia, major league sources said.

...The trade is highly complex, sources say, with the Phillies receiving money from the Jays to help pay Halladay's salary next season. Halladay is owed $15.75 million, but that number could be negotiated down as part of a new contract agreement.

...One source with knowledge of the Mariners' plans said Jack Zduriencik has been looking for two starting pitchers — not just one. Lee will now slot behind ace Felix Hernandez.

...The agreement comes at a difficult time for the Angels, who also had interest in Lee. The Angels also recently lost Chone Figgins to the Mariners and are on the verge of losing John Lackey to Boston. The Angels are reportedly in negotiations with designated hitter Hideki Matsui.

...As the blockbuster nears completion, the Braves are an interested bystander. The Angels now appear to be among the favorites to acquire Derek Lowe.

If it somehow turns out that Happ is the most valuable non-Lee guy we're parting with, I'll be swoony with joy.
