So this is promising.

We can get to 50 pages by 5 PM.

i dont disagree with that. i like him alot, but i seem to remember in the past that he's held the "phils aren't going after lowell, ramirez etc" line when it was pretty clear after the fact that they were.

but again, yeah totally promising

IMO it depends on the prospects, assuming we can get an extension done I think option 1 is still worth it if Drabek's not involved. If Drabek is, not worth it IMO. Latest rumors have him out though

The difference between Halladay and Blanton is much greater than the difference between Blanton and scrapheap 4th/5th starter, I would think.

Or let's consider playoff rotations ...

Is Lee-Halladay-Hamels-1 other guy
better than
Lee-Hamels-Happ-Blanton?

Answer: A thousand times "Yes."

So...

Halladay - Lee - Hamels - Pedro - Moyer

with Drabek in reserve if hes not involved in the deal.

I feel like the difference is 1 great chance to win the game, 3 good chances, and 1 not very likely as opposed to 2 great chances, 1 good chance, and 2 not very likely.

Game 3 of the NLDS made this pretty clear. Happ wasn't really ready/rested, we were yo-yoing with him and Blanton, and almost lost that game. Assuring one of Lee or Hamels goes in Game 3 next year makes me excited.

I hate that Blanton would have to go. It's easy for me to sit here and say suck it up for 1 season to have the best 1-4 rotation in baseball. I'm trying to decide whether Halladay-Lee-Hamels-Pedro-Moyer is better than Lee-Hamels-Blanton-Happ-Moyer, while keeping Brown....
