I was really big on Correa 2 years ago, but he was suspended all of last season for an infraction I'm not at liberty to discuss in public, because I can't confirm it with a second source. He's got a real live arm (which was talked about in the brief blurb there) and always seemed like a good breakout candidate before the suspension. Lakewood has helped his surface line this year, his peripherals have been good not great, but he doesn't even turn 20 until next month, obviously he's got a ton of time.

Gose is probably the fastest player in the minors, and hes got a cannon arm. Hes still raw at the plate, and its gonna take him a lot of time to learn to hit breaking balls and use his speed. Hes not a Juan Pierre-esque slap hitter, hes got more power than that, but hes probably gonna max out at 10-15 a year in the bigs. Just a guess.

Even more the reason why it's OK to trade away a couple of good prospects for Halladay.

Sounds Victorino-esque.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Let's also not think for a second that Toronto isn't aware of both of these guys. We may very well see a player like one of these two rounding out a deal. It wouldn't surprise me at all.

1:57pm: Yahoo's Gordon Edes reports that the Red Sox offered Clay Buchholz, Michael Bowden and Ryan Westmoreland to the Blue Jays for Halladay.

We know Bucholz is the best player but is the sum of that deal better than what the Phillies are offering?

Edes was also the guy who reported Weaver in the Angels' offer. I compared him to notoriously awful political pollster John Zogby, and uncle milt (who obviously got the reference ;) ) called me a snob...

If it happens, it happens. But let's not freak out just yet.

Bowden is somewhat overrated, I think he ends up a #5 or a reliever

But Westmoreland has bigger upside than Brown, though hes further away

If the Sox offered that I believe we would be hearing about a schedule press conference introducing Halladay as a Red Sox. I call BS on that rumor

Is this guy like Ricciardi's personal assistant or something? All he reports on (supposedly) are the better offers Toronto isn't actually getting from other teams to drive up the Phillies offer.

I especially liked that article he wrote where he said the Angels offered Wood and Weaver.

If he goes to the Red Sox, I might have to move out of the city. I won't be able to stomach the fawning over him after he was so close to being a Phillies
