We'll see how serious he is. Rule # 1 - never publicly set a deadline you don't plan to keep.

A report on Tuesday said the Red Sox had offered pitchers Clay Buchholz and Michael Bowden and outfield prospect Ryan Westmoreland for Halladay. A person with knowledge of the offer shot down the report. However, the person indicated that Boston was ready to put Buchholz in play. That could adversely affect the Phillies, because Blue Jays sources say they favor Buchholz over any of the Phillies pitchers who have been discussed.

But living in Boston (and having a gf who is a Sox fan) has kind of changed me. Its completely different here in Boston I think. Fenway Park is amazing in every way. They have an awesome team. I'm genuinely jealous of their front office operation. Their owner isn't meddlesome, and in fact, seems like a pretty decent guy. They basically do everything right as an organization. The bandwagon fans still suck, but thats the case with every team. But being here in Boston has really changed the way I look at the team.

IIRC he backed off that deadline days ago.

I thought he said only if things were progressing. So far he claims he hasn't been motivated.

You may be right. That sounds familiar. But I guess the point is that he left himself some wiggle room.

Then if I'm Amaro it's a no. We don't NEED this. We need another solid pitcher. This is a luxury move, not a move of necessity.
There are other ways to better this team without letting this prick get the best of us. Screw him and his little dog too. I hope he gets hit by a train after his ass gets fired.

They are the best run team in baseball. And they carry themselves like that. Thus, I dislike them.
