Is this year's deadline, when we're linked to the best player available, more fun than previous years when we haven't been linked seriously to a marquee player?

It was enjoyable for the first day or two, but not so much anymore.

I don't believe it. I think the Phillies want Halladay. Any indication that they don't is for JP's benefit only.

I guess my hope that winning a World Series would change the mentality of the front office was misguided.

I'm not sure I believe it either. Surely the Phils knew going in that they were going to have to give up young SP to get this done. Just make sure you re-sign Halladay instead of Howard and its not a big deal

2011 = Halladay, Hamels, Carrasco, Savery, Knapp, Bastardo, May, whatever. Win now. Care about later later
