Yup. The Expos used to have a great, great farm system. Moving to Washington was supposed to allow them to keep all these great players they developed, but, after 2002, they stopped developing great players, for the most part. Ashame.

Hope they lose and never sniff .500 again. And by again, I mean, as long as their franchise exists.

They were 16 games over .500 at the ASB in 2005, with a -4 run differential. That's a hell of a thing.

There are only two people affiliated with the Nats I really hate: Bob Carpenter and John Lannan.

Why the hate for Lannan Hoya? He has 1 win in 14 starts against the Phils.

Because he broke Utley's wrist and he hits like 2 Phillies per outing

I googled Washington Nationals Forum after seeing this thread. Quick browse of their forum is interesting.

They have a 37 page Willingham/Nostalgia Trade Thread.

Like 50% of his hit batters are Phillies. It is an ungodly amount. Fuck that prick.

Actually, here it is.

Of the 21 batters John Lannan has hit, 8 of them have been Phillies (38%).

Don't hate so much. What else is there to be nostalgic about? Adam Dunn, RFK, playing spoiler and being above .500. The biggest event in Nationals history could well be Teddy winning the presidents race, and that is just a rip off of the racing sausages with the twist of one prez being a loser (Warren Harding would make an excellent replacement when Teddy wins).

I was surprised that it was 37 pages, that's a lot of Josh Willingham discussion.

A guy leading a young team like Moses out of the desert and getting no love or respect from the club. In fact a guy leading a team with the threat that they are not committed to him if there is any better offer available. The owners have always made it pretty clear that he was interim in their view. See the other thread all about this...
