So after four seasons of their "dominant" run, they're going to have two playoff appearances and zero series wins to show for it. And now the free agency exodus begins.

Talk about a make or break offseason for Mike Rizzo. Replace two starters, most of the bullpen, and your starting SS/CF. And probably do it with mostly in-house options, because you have $85M committed to seven players and it's going to get worse in 2017, when Harper becomes arb-eligible.

They got Trea Turner from the Padres last off-season. Turner was the Pad's #2 prospect and was a the 13th overall pick in the 2014 draft. They are planning on having him take over for Desmond next year. Of course, he is batting .091 since being called up 3 weeks ago.

Eleven ABs for Turner. He has a pretty nice minor league record. But his name is Trea and it's tough to count on a guy named Trea.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can

And they have Escobar too at $7M for 2016. I doubt Turner starts the season as their everyday SS. It's probably Rendon-Escobar-Espinosa (Arb1)-Zimmerman, but who knows. Rizzo always seems to make at least one weird personnel decision per offseason, usually involving first base or a corner OF.

What I've learned from clicking on a few threads is that Drew Storen's dad will block you on Twitter if you make negative comments about his son.

Matt Williams will be sharing dumpster scraps with Drew Storen this time next year

Who would employ Storen after this spate of "pitching"?
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

Looks like Storen has one more arb. Strasburg is also a free agent after next season, so it will be interesting to see if they decide to trade him.

it is quite unique how the Mets are almost a novelty in a way and I'm enjoying the Nats meltdown. Never ever thought I'd feel this way. Strange days.

The Nats made things personal a couple years back, I think I'd sooner root for Isis
