Not sure why people didn't stay, but if they are like me they aren't interested in non-competitive games with little chance to break serves. Maybe this one was different but I didn't watch as I expected it to be 7-6 almost every set. Maybe they ended up having long volleys.

I agree with this post. Also, I mean lets be realistic....it was after midnight and the second set wasn't done yet. I guess that's the US Open's "thing" now but literally no other professional sport schedules this way.

Maybe it had something to do with the match not starting until 10:30p. Three of the four sets (1,2 and 4) went to tiebreakers and those were 7-5, 11-9 and 9-7. It took an hour each to play the second and fourth sets. There actually were not that many (relatively speaking) long rallies.

Anyway, who thinks Madison Keys is feeling a little extra pressure now?

So if Fed wins he is up to 20, if Nadal he is up to 16 total majors. If Nadal wins both would have won 2 majors this year, which is absolute crazy. Fed would probably have 25+ if not for Nadal and Nadal would be in the mid 20's most likely.

If Fed's back holds up he should win, but it sure would be crazy going into next year if the Majors was 19-16 all time.

Federer is in less trouble now.

But yeah, match seems weird. Not the highest quality tennis.
