poor showing for the american men again. roddick made it through, but isner, ginepri, bobby reynolds and robbie kendrick all lost. querrey plays later and taylor dent plays amer delic. fish plays sam groth who they say has been serving in the 150mph range. could be a short stay for the americans.

federer wins in straight sets and will face evgeny korolev in the next round. feds has a fairly tough start, made a bit easier by korolev upsetting carlos moya. he'll likely face safin in the third round.

sam querry lost, so it looks like the americans are down to roddick, fish and amer delic who beat taylor dent in five sets.

federer breaks again to start the fourth. berdych challenged the call to give feds his 3rd break point of the game and the replay didn't work, which ticked him off. he's a bit of a head case so we'll see if it hurts him.
