don't get me wrong i still like him and would definitely give him the keys to the car and make him president of basketball operations... but the past 2-3 years, the guy's been throwing shit at the wall hoping it would stick down there in houston. i'm thinking it's more of a case where he sensed the clock ticking with ownership issues and maybe even with harden.

i think napalm's scenario is probably the only way he becomes part of the organization

If he was magically available next season though, I'd tear it all down if the team flounders out, and put it all on him.

Firmly believe harden made him do the Westbrook trade.

The Covington trade was a decent gimmick that got them under the tax I think. I assume the plan would have been to sign a decent center for the MLE this summer.

He did a pretty good job the last few years finding decent guys on the cheap to fill out their rotation.

I'd rather have a GM that doesn't lose every trade like Elton, so by all means, bring in Morey!

This is not a knock on Morey coming here, but Elton seems like he'll be one of the best GM's in the league over the next 5-10 years. There's a changing of the guard happening. Though I don't know how that timeline fits in with the Sixers since he's sitting atop a ticking time bomb.

He seems new school, well connected, and I'm impressed by his speaking intelligence. Maybe those traits are blinding me, but I'm not so down on the mixed bag of results thus far, considering the parameters in play. This is only the beginning of his front office career, and it feels like the training wheels can come off now.

The bolded part is quite boast-y, but the Sixers are in a prime spot to win a title, which elevates him right away. I just don't see him flaming out in the long run

My issue is it seems like you could say all that stuff about Billy King too? Presenting yourself well doesn’t mean you know what you are doing. It’s been a mixed bag at best so far.

If Morey wanted to be president with Elton staying on as GM that seems like it could be a great result. Not sure if either guy would be amenable to that though. And I feel like Doc while he probably respects Morey he probably wouldn’t be happy with the first thing the team does is fire the guy that hired him and he just spent a week talking publicly about how excited he is to work with. That said GETUM
