Shams also said Brand is "well respected" and has maintained a good relationship with ownership. Looks like this is just gonna be Brett.

I guess they were convinced by everyone blaming the coach for everything for years.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

If these are the choices just roll the dice with Jay Wright.

Ok so others may know too. Got it.

If others heard Brand is in trouble I haven't seen it. The Shams report seems to indicate the opposite. Seems more likely Simmons trying to irritate Sixers fans even more.

I wouldn't rely on anything Simmons or Russillo say as far as news about the Sixers. It would be like relying on Skip Bayless for Eagles news.

Moving onto a 4th gm in what, 5 years? I could take it or leave it with Elton at the moment, but he made these moves and it sounds like he'll get to see them through. If they're gonna fire the coach for not making the pieces work together, then they're probably just looking to bring in another coach to make these pieces work together. I was always impressed with Eltons eloquence and think he made mostly the right calls. This year did not reflect that though and left more questions than answers, but they'll get down to the common denominator eventually. Brown had too much Process culture on him

He was the top assistant this season I believe.

Yup Keeping Brand, letting him hire a new coach, then firing Brand in a year doesn't seem like a good way to attract a future GM but maybe they feel like there are no good GM Candidates they can get.

Gotta think if Udoka wasn't 100% with Brown they replace him at some point over the last few seasons.

Udoka was only with the organization this season (and a weird season to be here too)

Udoka was only around this season. Monty Williams Billy Lange and Lloyd Pierce all had the job previously before moving on.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

From what I recall the general sense is he’s a good coach but hard to work with and tries to grab power for himself so he’s worn out his welcome quickly in both spots.
