Jimmy is def the co-worker who is always talking loudly in the breakroom about what's wrong w the company while he's just trying to fix everything for everybody else, then needs to know if you're coming HH because there's no way you have other plans and he went to the trouble of sending out the email so stop being such a pansy about it. Also, he's only been here 2 months and has worked everywhere else in the industry so he has stories, you have no idea.

He and Simmons have the exact same amount of championship rings and finals appearances. Who's Jimmy Butler to "tell him what's what?"

People always lap up Butler's "I just want to win" schtick like it's unquestioned fact but always leaves out the part where it has to be done Jimmy's way.

This. And the fact that Jimmy's way has yielded zero anything (other than a cameo in Office Christmas Party)

Let’s use that “office example” and look at it from a lens that isn’t inherently critical of JB.

What if your boss was asking you to do things that were clearly incorrect. If you did them, you would be guilty by association through the lens of your boss’ boss. Your career is irrefutably harmed as is your teams. Instead of following down the wrong path, you decide to take the reigns and do what is actually right which in the end makes you, the team and your boss look good.
On a scale of 1 to Chris Brown, how pissed is he?

Jimmy's not a great basketball player and basically is living off his rep to be good(superstar calls for constistant foul shots). his defense is subpar and his offense outside of foul shooting is pretty mediocre, too.

i'd take JRich over Butler everyday of the week.

That said, i do believe in intangibles and jimmy brings those in spades. The lockeroom desperately needs a voice like his and if it isn't going to be a player it damn better well be the coach.

I have like zero faith that this happens but Josh Harris should take a page out of Jeff Luries playbook and form a committee with advisors for the next coach and maybe GM for the Sixers. I'd include Billy King and Jim Lynam and perhaps Doug Collins to start. I'd consider getting input from Barkley, Croce, Pat Williams, and maybe even Iverson.

Remember that Jaworski was involved to an extent on Doug Pederson's hire.
Not everything I think is something I should say.

Simmons and Russillo seem to think Brand is in trouble, too. Would be a weird talking point if it wasn’t somewhat informed.

I'm good with forming a committee of consultants but would prefer like the Zach Lowe's and a bevy of other smart industry people. The Sixers have been too bad for too long to involve their own people present/past.

In all likelihood they will probably bring in some consulting/hiring firms that companies use for exec hiring, but it'l just be a collection of 8 Jared Kushner's blowing smoke up ownerships asses.
Continued success, thanks for comin' on the show!

I doubt those guys know anything, but our organization is probably rudderless enough to be influenced by them and other national media of prominence

I agree that I want Billy King, Jim Lynam, and Doug Collins to have as much input on FO personnel as Brand does too.

Just do something obvious: try to get Morey and give him autonomy or go after Mike Zarren or something. Then just let them make decisions unfettered.

I mean they both are Celtics fans right? I doubt they have info that others don't.

Honestly thought the ask Billy King and Doug Collins idea was a joke.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

+1

Let’s not forget Ed Stefanski.

All the Jimmy Butler is a dick that hasn’t really won anything takes are fine but again why trade for him when you know that going in unless you know you can handle it. Brand of all people as a former player should have insight on that.

How much authority did Brand really have in the roster decisions?
