I think Lue can probably relate to the players well, but I really question his ability as a coach when he doesn't have LeBron. Probably isn't fair to him but I am not sure I want the Sixers to be the test case on whether he is actually a good coach.

Can we require a reversal of the Tobias trade as a condition?
On a scale of 1 to Chris Brown, how pissed is he?

I just have a feeling Lue will end up elsewhere. I’m with Ace on Kenny Atkinson, though, but don’t know if he’s a fit with EB.

Atkinson is interesting with his offensive approach, I just don't know that Brand wants to hire a guy with no deep playoff experience and is 70 games under .500 in his career if this is his last coaching hire.

@JakeLFischer
Sam Hinkie was Philadelphia's president of basketball operations. Bryan Colangelo was quickly named president of basketball operations. Until Elton Brand is elevated from the Sixers' general manager, the possibility of ownership hiring a president above him will always remain.

This is a good point. Maybe they bring in someone over Brand.

Would be cool if they hired Becky Hammon.

Actually was sort of surprised she didn't step in for Pop when he was out instead of Duncan. I think it's a mission of his to help make her a head coach though.

Woj said this:

The franchise's plan is that Brand will continue to oversee basketball operations, sources said, but the personnel and structure in the front office is undergoing significant evaluation and change is looming.

So I think he will be President and they could bring in a new GM?

I feel like our FO already has a lot of cooks. It’d be wild to bring someone else to add to the mix over Brand, but it might be nice to have someone to help with an overall strategy and let Brand execute it.

Would a coach that we bring in also get the president title? I think that’s a thing with Pop and Buford, but I can’t think of any other current coaching/FO power structures where the coach is the president and a GM is doing the transactions.

Certainly sounds like a possibility.

Could mean he's continuing to oversee for now but that could change.

are they still going to show the AI stepover at games if they hire Lue? If not, thats' a non-starter for me.

As mcare pointed out on Twitter, Lue is obviously tight with Lebron and therefore Klutch and therefore Simmons.

Not a Lue fan...I have no idea what he brings in terms of offensive or defensive structure, that was LeBron's thing in Cleveland. Does he hold players accountable? Again, I don't know. He just doesn't seem like the kind of basketball mind that would be4 able to figure out how to fit Ben and Joel together.

Some good takes. Luzgut n others.

I know that many don’t feel Hinkie could have got all the way. We’ll never know. But our mediocre ownership f’d w Colangelo n we lost cred n momentum. Blowing #1 on Fulz really hurt.

We can’t go back now. The good news is that Jo n Ben are still young by NBA and very talented. Elite.

Lue is not likely the guru we need. We need a Phil Jackson sen sei type who can get jo n Ben to next level.

Tough guy coach ex player not the right answer for playful Jo n moody Ben.

Someone needs to have a real concept on how to elevate those two and what to put around them.

The roster isn’t bare if a bit over priced.

Study the sweep by hated foes from besntown. Deconstruct and re approach.
