Assuming Brown is coaching his last games for the Sixers, is there a big "get" to replace him?

Adrian Griffin, assistant on the Raps, is a hot name for a head coaching job. D’Antoni may be out in Houston at the end of this year as well.

Remember that the GM is almost as culpable as the coach right now. This team is very poorly constructed

Cleaning house is coming IMO. Brand is cooked too.
On a scale of 1 to Chris Brown, how pissed is he?

I don't think they clean house. I'm not even sure Brown gets canned.

In a way it reminds me of Klentak, Kapler and the Phillies moves last year. Kapler's gone but Klentak and others remain. I can see the same for Brand and company.
Drunk and stupid is no way to be remembered but it is an easy way to forget.

i'm not as quick to get rid of Brand as others. His worst move is probably getting rid of fultz, but i'm not sure any GM would have kept him.

The Horford contract and overpaying for Harris twice have capped us out for the next several years.

Letting JJ go when he made things work well with Ben and Jo was bad. Swapping Jimmy for J Rich didn’t seem bad at the time, but has been a disaster.

I also don't get how the collective that went so big on acquiring another ballhandler/creator with both Fultz and Butler just like completely ditched that idea

Horford was fine, IMO. we got cooked last year without a true backup center and he got the best. Brand was put in a position to get a 'max' level player because of luxury tax and salary cap reasons. It was going to be SOMEONE. gave up to much for him, but i'm not going to sweat not having Landry on our team. He was also a really really good player the past 2 years(not max level, but pretty good)

JJ was a victim of circumstance since this isn't baseball. Getting JRich back for Butler was pretty good and, at least i think so, has been pretty good and i'd like to keep him around if possible.

I wish Jimmy Butler weren’t such a strong personality. Would have saved a lot of hand wringing. Then again I guess that also means I should wish Ben Simmons and Brett Brown didn’t force him out of here.

The fact that the heat were willing to trade a valuable guy like Richardson to GET BUTLER is all you needed to know as to why you should’ve KEPT BUTLER.

Brand is as culpable as Brown. They are linked together. Both are not capable of winning at this level. Hell, Brand has zero fucking experience. I mean, Brown had more GM experience than Brand when brand got hired.

Colangelo wasn’t great obviously but aside from the Fultz trade which on paper makes a ton of sense had a clear plan. He was roasted for not being Hinkie but he wasnt anywhere near the failure as Brand has been.

I also do appreciate the Neubeck piece for its honestly and fire, but I kept reading waiting to see the line “the Sixers are without one of the best players in the league”. Not sure why that wasn’t mentioned, which is why it felt a little hollow to me. Still a fair amount of stuff in there that needed to be said.

I don't think Ben forced Jimmy out, but the organization clearly -- and you can argue very sensibly, imo -- made its choice there. Assuming Butler was not hell bent on leaving and/or going to Miami in particular, which I still think was very possible.

The big thing which I'll never really understand is why they decided to go ALL IN last year. Unless Embiid is a ticking time bomb health wise in ways beyond the obvious, it made no sense.

Then they go big, again, with Horford, seeming to assume he would solve the backup C problem but not accounting for all Butler and Redick provided. And I guess hoping Harris would do more as the third option rather than fourth.

while losing JJ may not have been on brand with how things went down, i feel like they tried to replace that 3point production with korkmaz which doesn't work.
Not everything I think is something I should say.

I think they’ll take a serious look at the entire FO for the first time since the Hinkie situation. Harris will look at the investments they’ve made in trying to create a contender, a 6 seed/first round sweep is hard to justify with the money they’ve spent. I don’t really trust them to make the right decisions beyond that but I do think Harris is well aware that this has been a massive failure top to bottom.
Continued success, thanks for comin' on the show!

They've already squandered their assets and cap space, at this point you focus on getting a quality coach. Not a pushover like Brett, and not a taskmaster that is gonna run Ben out of town. The mistake was always the misguided notion of accelerating the timeline instead of letting their two stars gradually mature and add on as assets allowed. The other misguided notion was this accepted logic that a "3rd star" was needed. It wasn't. Two stars were plenty. They just needed time to grow.
