Feel like tons of players would say not deferring to owners whose valuations have exploded by based on TV deals is "DOING WHAT'S RIGHT"? Great platitude but uncertain how it applies to the current situation...

For sure, I think his main point is moreso to both the players and the owners - "figure it out, assholes, there's a greater good at stake here" vs. coming off as looking out for themselves at the expense of the fans and the game.

Seems like things are getting closer if everything gets played but is still putting the risk on the players if stuff gets cancelled.

It's just ridiculous at this point. MLB is just dressing up six different versions of the same offer, which is "we're not paying you more than a third of your salary." It's an embarrassment. The governing body of the sport is telling you the games don't matter.

This NBA stuff might help the MLB players save face, too, if it leads to that season being delayed.

But yeah, owning an MLB franchise is not profitable!
(Brandy) only hinted at Halladay's personal issues during her Hall of Fame speech last July, when she said, "Roy would want everyone to know that people are not perfect. We're all imperfect and flawed in one way or another. We all struggle."

Per Rosenthal, union unlikely to provide a counterproposal, going to end up being Manfred's mandate

This is 99% the owners fault and 1% on the players for still employing Tony Clark. What a shame. I hope most of the players opt out of even playing when the season is mandated.

everyone will have starters only go 4-5 innings and monkeys will call balls and strikes. It will be chaos.

If I'm JT I'm sitting out if I don't get an extension. What's the point of playing some rushed miniseason and maybe getting hurt when I have the biggest payday of my life coming in a few months?
