Trade for Bryant. Sign Miley and Bentances. Win division.

It makes sense if you don’t have to trade anything of value. It’s just money.

If you essentially have to pay $40 million a year for Kris Bryant for the two years where you're actually getting Kris Bryant at good value, aren't you better off just signing Rendon instead?

I think Bryant is better than Rendon and I’m fine gambling on Heyward becoming pretty good again.

It’s not going to happen but I’m just in the corner of adding elite talent, basically no matter the cost. Act like a big market team and pay the tax.

I would take Darvish in the right deal. He was decent in the 2nd half and is owed 4/$80M. Heyward would be so redundant on this roster.

If I’m going to pay 40m for someone, just give it the Cole. Heyward/Bryant is an awful idea

I really want MadBum. That may not be rational but I love that dude.

I think Middleton has been clear about having no qualms about paying the tax to put a true contending team on the field ... we are a lineup spot and number three starter plus maybe a bullpen arm or two from doing that... we need a 3b or CF with Kingery manning the other spot and someone after Nola and Wheeler but before Eflin, Arrieta, eventually Howard... a Bryant trade truly does make sense

i'm glad fangraphs hasn't been winning season prediction games lately like they were a couple of year ago, 'cause right now they have the phils at about 83.5 wins, but still 8 games behind the mets, 5.5 behind the nats, and five behind the braves.
gonna need a trade at least as successful as the jtr move of last year to close that gap.
at least we know that klentakis capable of such trades... fingers crossed...

Not exactly a beacon of hope.

Not that Klentak isn't capable of closing the gap. He's not authorized to do so if the tax threshold is a hard cap for the team this year.

Just wanted to post that the additions of Zach Wheeler, Didi Gregorius, Joe Girardi and Bryan Price *are* enough to get me pretty excited about the start of Phillies baseball.

TBF they could add Kyle Kendrick, Desi Relaford, Stump Merrill and Mike Maddux and many of us would be excited for the start of Phillies baseball.

According to his agent he's available to appear at BSG Suite Day for a Cole Hamels Facts tee and a sixxer of Stoudts Scarlet Lady

Vegas had us in 4th place before the Didi move, wonder if this puts us past the Mets in their eyes.

He is not.
Eighteen years after playing in Philadelphia, former Phillie Desi Relaford called Philly fans “trash.”

Relaford spent 11 seasons in Major League Baseball, the first five with the Phils. He was a career .243 hitter.

“The fans, they were trash,” Relaford told The Jake Brown Show podcast. “I have some really good friends there, but as fans? Oh yeah, the worst…Not only are they hard, but they’re just irrational. They boo just to boo.

“Getting booed before they even announce my name, ‘Now batting, your shortstop, booo!‘ I get it, I was scuffling. I’m not saying you can’t get booed or fans shouldn’t boo. Yeah, if a player deserves to get booed, boo his a**, give it to him. But there’s a time and place and it shouldn’t just be for any and everything, and especially your home team. I can understand booing your home team, but things should be really, really bad before that happens.”
