Does hiring Price provide any indication of the off-season moves? Does it mean they think his credibility will attract free agents? Does it mean they believe an experienced coach can salvage some of the young pitchers?

Phillies will decline Pat Neshek’s $7M option. Three times the sidearmer has had an ERA under 2 but his 2019 season, like many Phillies relievers, was injury marred.

I noticed this a while ago, too. I forget who the other teams were that also hadn't. Nats obviously were one before last night. There's only a few though. Even teams that almost never make it like the Brewers have played a game 7.

I know Colorado is one. The only time they played in the NLCS was when they swept us in 2007, they swept Arizona, then got swept by Boston in the WS

Hard to tell where Phillies stand on 40-man roster. The Stock claim and Herrera reinstatement would put them at 52. Subtract 7 (8?) free agents. Neshek option declined. Vargas, Hughes have options. They had to get under 40 to make Stock claim; team hasn’t even announced that.


Not sure if that really confirms it, he's saying "would"
