i'm not sure it's bad. he said he "got a sense". So i'm thinking something like:

"'sup Matty K, I got some good starter arms I'm looking to deal, you in?" "Nah, we good".

Conclusions: the sense that the phillies are going after cole and/or strasburg

The interlocking "SD" is their primary logo

The brown/sand uniform on the right is the road uni, with the sand pinstripe on the left being an alternate

A modernized yellow friar logo from the 80s is on the left sleeve

The Padres have never had great looking uniforms imo, but these really aren't that much different than their uniforms of the past, particularly the one Manny is wearing. Not really a fan of the one Hosmer is wearing, but the other one is fine.

The fans wanted a return to brown and yellow and it's a decent mix of their looks over the past 35 years. I dunno...I think it looks pretty good. The combination of pinstripes and collar/sleeve trim looks weird, but it's been done before (e.g. Mets and Pirates in the early 80s)

Meanwhile in San Francisco, they started work on the new bullpens behind the center field and right-center field fences, removing seats and bringing the fence in 4-6 feet and lowering it a foot, so the triples triangle right-center gap will be reduced slightly



The bullpens will be moved from the foul lines to that section behind AAA and BIOFREEZE

My issue is mostly with the font. I think it looks very contemporary-generic. No character whatsoever.

realken looks at the astros sign stealing ($)

pretty much just confirmation of what has sort of come out. they had a camera in cf focused on the catchers signs feeding to a tv in the hall. when it was a breaking pitch, the person watching would bang loudly on a trashcan to alert to it. overall implication is that is pervasive throughout mlb.
