Josh Hamilton arrested on felony charge of injury to a child

Former Texas Rangers All-Star Josh Hamilton was arrested Wednesday in Tarrant County, Texas, on suspicion of injury to a child, a third-degree felony.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by the Dallas Morning News, one of his daughters told authorities that Hamilton became upset about something she said, then threw a water bottle at her, hitting her. The girl told authorities he then pulled a chair out from under her and threw it at her. Hamilton then picked the girl up and carried her to her bedroom, where he held her head down with one hand and hit her legs with another, the girl said.

After Hudson struck out Brantley to end the World Series, it got me wondering what has happened more often: ending a WS on a strikeout or ending a WS on a ball in play. I didn't start following baseball until the 1983 World Series and just realized none of the World Series in the 1970s ended on a strikeout.

Including 1980, we've had the following the last 40 seasons (without 1994 obviously):
22 ended on ball in play
13 ended on strikeout
4 ended on walkoff hit

The two Phils championships ended on Ks, and obviously last night did too. Without cheating, can you name the other 10 World Series in the past 40 years that ended on strikeouts?

Looks like they added some details:

According to an affidavit by a Keller Police Department detective, Hamilton's daughter told police about an incident on Sept. 30. She said she made a comment to Hamilton that upset him, so he threw a full bottle overhand at her, hitting her in the chest, then began cursing and shouting at her. He pulled away the chair on which she rested her feet and threw it, breaking the chair. It didn't hit her, but he then grabbed her by the shoulders and lifted her from the chair on which she sat. She fell to the floor, from which he lifted her, threw her over his shoulder and carried her to her bedroom.

The girl said at this point she was telling Hamilton, "I'm sorry.'' Upon reaching her bedroom door, he tossed the teen onto her bed, pressed her face onto the mattress and began hitting her legs with an open hand and closed fist.

That got me much more curious about walkoff hits to end the World Series and in googling, I found this post on Reddit, and apparently there is home video footage of the 1929 series when the Philadelphia A's walked off against the Cubs.

I think Beckett struckout a Yankee in 03? Cardinals definitely grounded out to Keith Foulk in 04. Didn't happen in 93 ( :( ), 97 or 01 obviously. Everything else is a blur.

09 was a victorino groundout to second, although I’ve still to this day never seen the throw to first.
