I don't get Daniel's play here at all:

card player magazine wrote:Daniel’s Downfall

Don Baruch made a sizable pre-flop raise and Negreanu smooth called. The flop was dealt Q:h: J:s: 2:h:, and Negreanu bet out. Baruch quickly pushed all-in and Negreanu surprisingly called. Baruch revealed the K:h:J:h:, which had Negreanu’s A:s: K:s: in bad shape. The turn brought the Q :d: and the river the 2:c:. This doubled Baruch up. Negreanu slowed down a bit after this hand, taking more of a passive approach. As a result of Negreanu relenting, play slowed down considerably overall at the final table.

Calling an all in with a gut shot and 2 overs?! I guess I'd have to see the chip counts.

Maybe Danny thought his spades were hearts
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

found this:

Current Chip Counts

Don Baruch -- $1,120,000

Jared Davis -- $870,000

Daniel Negreanu -- $760,000

Daniel Negreanu’s dominance of this final table has started to relinquish after doubling up Don Baruch and losing the chip lead.

so if the chip counts were 760K and 1.1M after the hand then Baruch had about 650K and Daniel had 1.4M before the hand.

So I guess the important part is what was the "sizeable" preflop raise?

Wow, halfway down Page 2!?!? Nothing is going on in the poker world?!?!? I played a small tourney Friday night and totally sucked; went out 6th out of 9. As card dead as I've ever been and when I did get decent pocket cards the flop was nowhere near me. Oh well, I made my entry fee back in a cash game.

Bought my Dad a subscription to Card Player for FD. Hope he likes it!

Just the WSOP...Norm McDonald almost FT'd one of the events. Phil Hellmuth made another FT but he's a short-stack. Some dude nicknamed Eskimo had multiple seizures during the Razz event after having a heart attack last week at some other event.

I went to AC on Sat/Sun and ended up down 10 dollars. I was up about 200 and then decided to fold in the SB to a raise when I should've called and would've flopped a FH in a 300+ dollar pot. I stopped playing about a half hour later because I was just so tired.

Oh well. I go next week, hopefully I will keep my head in it more this time.

I will be in AC next weekend (the 29th-30th) for my best friend's bachelor party. We will probably be playing poker for at least part of the day on Saturday, most likely the 11 AM tournament at the Showboat or the 10:15 at the Taj.

I took 7tth out of 19 at the live tourney last saturday, I just went card dead at the wrong time and when the blinds starting hurting I went all in on the button with A9 and the BB called me with KQ suited and hit his K on the river. (Blinds at 5/10K and I had 90K)

I will be in AC on the 5th pacino- when are you going?
