We've already seen what he can do in the rotation, too.

TBF he continued to wear #18 until 1972 when he was traded for Carlton.

I seem to recall him wearing #38
(Brandy) only hinted at Halladay's personal issues during her Hall of Fame speech last July, when she said, "Roy would want everyone to know that people are not perfect. We're all imperfect and flawed in one way or another. We all struggle."

this is correct. he didn't play at all in 1965 (?), then in 1966 he donned #38

edit: went back to the minors (Arkansas Travelers in 1965, started the 1966 with the then phillies-minor-league team San Diego Padres

Smyly looked good today which makes me wonder what was going on in Texas and why didn’t the brewers bring him up?

With 3 off days in the next 8 days, they won’t need a 5th starter until the BSG game 8/3....I wonder if they IL Eflin to give him some rest from him feeling “heavy” and bring up another bat for the time being, especially if they feel segura needs a day or 2 off

He has a dominant change-up and if he can even locate his FB reasonably well he can set up the change. His problem has been that his FB gets hit pretty hard in a lot of games, and then his change gets lit up because they know it's coming.

Texas and Milwaukee didn't want to put him on ML roster for whatever reason so he was able to force their hand. Our ML roster doesn't exactly have a velvet rope out front

First 2020 schedule rumor: Giants visit CBP the weekend of August 7-9. Not sure yet if that's 3 games or a 4-gamer that includes THU 8/6

yes? that's a key part of his cult tactic

make people think they're hated by others to steel their resolve

that's why 'basket of deplorables' may end up being the single phrase that destroyed our country

Trolls are good at getting people to react to them?

It’s more that he gets off on the attention and adulation that the hate brings him.

I still don't get the questions around Eflin's comment. Was blistering hot out. Doesn't seem to me like a reflection on his conditioning. Expect he's totally fine and just struggled with the heat.
