Phillies 2019 Discussion III: The Dog Days of Bummer

Ken: #Phillies announce acquisition of RHP Mike Morin from #MNTwins  for cash considerations. As with Smyly, taking a shot at minimal cost and with little risk.

Morin probably sucks, but he didn't allow an earned run in 18 of his first 21 appearances with the Twins. Then he gave up four in one inning on July 4 and hasn't pitched since, so this might be a case of the manager saying "I don't want to see that guy again" or something. Very low strikeout rate

Morin is good imo, throws a sick change up in MLB The Show

For cash only, its a good trade

So does this mean we were never actually in on Mike Minor?

I had no clue that Brad Miller had a 30 HR season with the Rays.

He seems like a pretty good player to keep around with his bamboozling.

Keeping Salas on the roster over Hammer seems like an odd decision

I’ve been wearing a brown Phillies hat for years. Guess I’m ahead of the curve.

Gabe said they didn't want to overuse Hammer after he missed time with an elbow strain, plus he was having trouble throwing strikes

Smyly will wear #18 ... the first Phils pitcher to wear #18 since Rick Wise in 1964

So, is VV going to the pen or Pivetta staying there?
Even if you get run over by a clown car and pissed on by a busload of school children, it's still your responsibility to interpret the meaning of the event and choose a response

TBF he continued to wear #18 until 1972 when he was traded for Carlton.
