bowling (OT)

Postby scottdg » Wed Apr 18, 2007 12:55:54

I was so happy last night to see I had my average up to 210 only to see it go down in flames with my worst night in 3 years....a 487 series topped off with a 139 game. I would like to thank the lack of sleep thanks to the baby but I can't even do that. I was just bad.

I had a 480 early in the season, it was nuts. Still, the baby had to be a contributing factor.

At least it's almost over.

Had 781 the last night of the season. Raised my average 9 pins over the last 6 weeks to end at 206.7, which was in the top 1/3 of the league(house was pretty tough the first half). Did the same in the other league I bowl in in the easier house. I missed a 2-10 split to start off the 3rd game and that was my only open. I then needed to strike out after the 2nd frame and almost did, but ended up getting a weak 7 pin in the 6th frame to seal my fate. No 800, but still a good score.

I've started turning the corner, I finished the season averaging 228 and 225 in the two houses. I think it was practicing on a sport shot that really helped me get out of my slump.

Nice job. Makes my 711 on Tuesday look like crap. I figured out I have to average 221 my last two weeks to reach my goal of 210.

I wish we had sport leagues by me.

868 for 4 games on a pba shot that was really hooking, I had to go between 4th and 5th arrow. I was pretty proud of that

pacino, which pattern was that? The only one that usually plays that far inside is the Shark pattern, and that usually doesn't hook all that much, at least until they breakdown some.

Are you left-handed or right-handed?

Oh, and 868 for 4 games on ANY PBA pattern is pretty decent!

I was able to follow up my 711 with a 740. The first time I have bowled back to back 700s. It looks like I got my 210 average with one week to go.

Nice job on the sport shot Pacino.

it wasnt the shark because i had to really chuck it to keep it from going left and to get it through the oil... i think it might've been scorpion?

Yeah, scorpion doesn't really doesn't have a "defined" area to play, I've seen guys play just about anywhere but the gutter on that shot. I don't know why that didn't occur to me, as we just bowled on that pattern at the last regional.

But then again, I'm left-handed, so I never have to move in that deep!

Seriously.

Edit: OK, that image was a bowling smurf figurine on a pedestal that said congratulations. Oh well.

How about this one:

To me at least, that is incredible. Congrats on that.

I hardly ever bowl, but the only way I am getting 300 is if I have a good two
