“I'm really excited to be part of such a great organization like the Phillies. They've been following me, coming to my games and scouting me, and they've really accepted me into their family. I'm just really excited to start and to show what I can do and hopefully help the team progress as years go on.”

Lee Sang, who has previously signed to play collegiate baseball at St. John's University (N.Y.), did say he expected to forego college to sign with the Phillies. Early Wednesday afternoon, he was relieved his name had been called to bring the draft process to an end. “It was stressful. A lot of contact with MLB teams, a lot of area scouts ... talking about prices and where they could select me. It all worked out in the end.”
Yonamine is committed to play collegiately at Illinois State but told KHON2 Sports Director Rob DeMello after being drafted that he and his family will await an offer from the Phillies with the possibility of signing to play professionally.

HUGE thank you to the @Phillies for the honor and opportunity to continue my career professionally! However, I am going to honor my commitment to the University of Louisville. Something special is cooking down there #L1C4

5'11" 190, Louisburg JC commit, "toolsy high school bat" ughhhScouting grades: Hit: 45 | Power: 50 | Run: 60 | Arm: 55 | Field: 50 | Overall: 45
Two years ago, Baylor transferred to Benedictine College Preparatory School in the Richmond, Va., area. He was young for his grade, so he re-classified and repeated 11th grade upon reaching the military school. The move seems to have paid off in terms of his baseball tools, as he's moved firmly into Day 2 conversations.
Baylor shows flashes of all five tools, though he doesn't always consistently show them all at the same time. He didn't impact the ball that much on the summer showcase circuit, but scouts think his right-handed swing works and there should be average future power. It's a loose athletic swing with some bat speed, giving him the chance to hit, but there's some swing and miss and some work to be done on his approach. An excellent athlete, Baylor runs well and is aggressive on the basepaths. He's raw at shortstop, and he'll need to work on his angles and footwork, but might have the chance to stick there, thanks to decent hands, his athleticism and a strong arm that has been up to 92 mph on the mound.
Teams feel that Baylor, committed to Louisburg Junior College, is signable. He had some helium as the Draft approached, with teams pouring in to see him and considering taking him in the top five rounds.

Markwardt will forego his final season of college eligibility. He said he will travel to Clearwater, Fla., on Saturday, where he'll probably sign with the Phillies and undergo a standard physical exam. Where he will begin his professional career is unclear, but the most likely possibilities would be with the Gulf Coast League Phillies, a rookie-league team, or the Williamsport Crosscutters, the Phillies' short-season Class A team.
“Yeah, I’m going to go ... I spent three years in college, and, this time, I figure it’s time to start it. Start my career. There have been some ups and downs. It’s been a long journey. But I’m excited now to have another shot in pro ball. I’m just going to do my thing.”
Greenwalt plans to start with the Phillies organization "whenever they send me away." He plans to finish his degree when he's finished with baseball, which he hopes won't be for a while.

Per Coach Stricklin on the Morning Show, Tucker Maxwell will indeed sign with the Philadelphia Phillies, who drafted him in the 22nd round of this week’s MLB Draft.
Maxwell hit .251 with 13 HRs, 29 RBI, and 21 stolen bases for UGA this season.

I can’t thank the University of Georgia and my coaches and teammates enough for the last three years. UGA brought me the best memories and opportunities that I could imagine. I’d like to thank my family for supporting my decision, I’m excited to sign with the Phillies!

Source tells me #Phillies and 29th round pick Micah Yonamine have agreed to a $280,000 signing bonus ($155,000 against pool). The C out of Iolani HS (HI) was committed to Illinois State. Set the Hawaii state HR record this season and became a Day 2 prospect. #MLBDraft
