Scouting grades: Fastball: 70 | Slider: 55 | Control: 40 | Overall: 45
Schultz pumped his fastball up to 97 mph as a Georgia high school senior in 2016, but concerns about his delivery, wildness and signability left him undrafted. He continued to show velocity but had difficulty finding the strike zone in his first two years at Tennessee, pitching just eight innings as a sophomore last spring. After shortening his arm angle and raising his slot a bit in 2019, he has thrown consistently harder than any college pitcher available in the Draft.
Schultz has sat at 95-97 mph and hit 101 with his fastball multiple times as a junior. His heater not only features premium velocity but also high spin rates, giving it riding action up in the strike zone. His slider has more power than bite, reaching the upper 80s and showing flashes of becoming a plus pitch at times yet also playing as a below-average slurve in the low 80s at others.
A pure reliever, Schultz doesn't have a third pitch, still has effort in his delivery and still battles the strike zone on a regular basis. He has potential as a closer if he can develop a more reliable slider and cut down his walks. If not, his upside would be along the lines of Kyle Farnsworth.

Can't fail.
After beginning his career as a starter, Schulze moved to the bullpen for the Gophers in 2018 where he earned nothing but success for the Maroon & Gold. From May 19, 2017 until April 27, 2019, the right-hander pitched in 45 games without suffering a defeat, finishing 14-0 in that stretch. His 18-4 career record is tied for seventh-best in program history and his nine saves in 2019 rank sixth-most in a single season and 10th most in a career over the 131-year history of the Minnesota baseball team.
In 2019, he made 30 appearances out of the bullpen, finishing 5-1 with a 3.07 ERA in 41.0 innings, striking out 55 batters. Those 30 appearances marked the second-most ever for a Gopher and ranked no. 46 in the nation. His nine saves also ranked no. 60 nationally and sixth most in the Big Ten. For his career, Schulze has a 3.81 ERA in 163.0 innings spanning 67 games, including 14 starts. He struck out 160 batters compared to just 66 walks.
Fassnacht grew up just under 70 miles away from Philadelphia in Ephrata, Pa., and has been a lifelong fan of the organization with his family still holding season tickets. ... Should he sign, Fassnacht would become just the second Colonial to play in the Phillies organization and the first since Sam Knisley in 1960. ...
Fassnacht just completed a breakout junior campaign in which he was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Year and a third team All-American by Collegiate Baseball. GW's everyday shortstop and team MVP hit .372 with a 1.108 OPS and tied the school record with 23 doubles. He finished the campaign ranked among the nation's top 100 performers in 13 different categories.
