I know I’m only speaking for myself but I just can’t be as exultant as some that our franchise is going through this embarrassing moment nor can I wish career ruin and humiliation (not to mention possibly destroying a marriage) for someone whose greatest sin might have been telling his wife that Jahlil Okafor failed a physical. In retrospect he shouldn’t have done it but I don’t know anyone who hasn’t occasionally shared confidential information with a spouse.
I know there are those who are absolutely, unequivocally convinced BC knew about it all the time and has been lying, but no one here can be that sure. No matter how certain we are that we know the facts, we’re still guessing.
The investigation should proceed and a decision made once the facts are ascertained. And if we’re worried about the effect of this episode on our offseason which is coming so quickly, that’s exactly why no one should be particularly happy this is happening at all at this particular moment.

Keith Pompey

#Sixers’ boss Bryan Colangelo turns 53 today. This has to be one of the most uncomfortable birthdays anyone has ever experienced due to be investigated and possibly losing his job due to The Ringer report.

The Okafor stuff may be the diciest from a legal stand point but all the stuff about Embiid followed by potentially lying to Embiid earlier this week (a week after the Ringer contacted the team) is probably the most damaging in a practical sense.
