His defense seems to be that his wife did it but he knew nothing about it. Again, that is not believable considering all 5 accounts were changed at the same time when The Ringer told him they knew about his two.

He needs to be done.

With him saying he has no knowledge of what is going on, it should be pretty easy for them to prove he did. The accounts going dark after he was contacted should be enough, find out who he called or emailed after that happened. If they don't have enough to pin it on him at this point then a weekend isn't going to help as they would have to be pretty incompetent.

And again — the PR staff knew about this nine days ago. So he’s probably been lying to the owners too.

Bring the wife in and talk to her as well. If at any pint Bryan says No then let him know he is fired. If he was truly innocent he would be moving mountains to prove it.

I'm thinking we're in the "lawyers scrutinizing contracts" phase and since it's such an unusual case it may be a few days before they determine the exit strategy. I don't blame the Sixers if they have a huge lump in their throat about being the first team to oust a GM because he was doxxed by a disgruntled fan.

Just saying — really doubt he told the owners the truth and then kept publicly lying eight days later.

well, there's this

Colangelo has told close associates that he believes he knows who is responsible for the tweets but has insisted to those inside and outside the investigation that he had nothing to do with the postings and was unaware of them until The Ringer brought them to the Sixers' attention prior to publication of the story this week, league sources said.

Maybe he told his wife about the story and then she confessed, and he's like, "Honey, shut that shit down". Still, he continued to blow hot air to every media source and to Embiid. Too far down the spiral at this point

But why call her within 15 minutes unless you already know that’s something she would do?

And I still think he wrote some/many

I don’t understand why they would ever let him off the hook even if it was his wife and he had no idea. Sucks for him, sure, but the opinions and inside info are obviously from him and therefore his position won’t be tenable with Embiid, Fultz, agents, etc.

Got to go no matter what unless it was an independent third party. Which is virtually impossible.

think this could be true, altho that shouldn't take more than a day. just as likely that Silver has "advised" them of the proper timing re the finals.

the GM search won't be affected by a few days. (I also don't think any other teams have vacancies?) There is tons of stuff for the investigating team to sort out in terms of who did what and who knew what when. better to get their ducks in a row and have a clear press conference where they can lay out all the info and their plans moving forward than just say, 'where there's smoke there's fire, later Bryan, details forthcoming'

I guess leaking to Pompey and Woj could support this theory — He’s gone but give us time

I wish we could dial back the “burn the witch” mentality a bit. I know I’m only speaking for myself but I just can’t be as exultant as some that our franchise is going through this embarrassing moment nor can I wish career ruin and humiliation (not to mention possibly destroying a marriage) for someone whose greatest sin might have been telling his wife that Jahlil Okafor failed a physical. In retrospect he shouldn’t have done it but I don’t know anyone who hasn’t occasionally shared confidential information with a spouse.

I know there are those who are absolutely, unequivocally convinced BC knew about it all the time and has been lying, but no one here can be that sure. No matter how certain we are that we know the facts, we’re still guessing.

The investigation should proceed and a decision made once the facts are ascertained. And if we’re worried about the effect of this episode on our offseason which is coming so quickly, that’s exactly why no one should be particularly happy this is happening at all at this particular moment.

Maybe Silver will tell them to do it today, to deflect some of the "Refs suck / Games are fixed" chatter.

Many good and sensible points on this page, good job guys. It's a dark cloud and the storms are rolling in this weekend, so maybe detaching from the matter might not be a bad idea. I find some relief that the case is building against him. Due Process i guess
