2018 Flyers Offseason/Preseason

They may be heading in different directions but it isn't because one coach pays attention to boos and one doesn't. It is pretty much all on Hextall at this point, he needs to have a good summer.

It’s cool to see the GM and Superstar talk about the fans after their performance in the playoffs

The fans are going to boo you regardless and pointing out that you are smarter than them is stupid. Kapler is not changing his strategy based on boos, he's doing exactly what he was going to do, but putting it that way builds some goodwill.

I'm really skeptical about bringing any of the "mediocre vets" back. Hextall says they know the players better than we do--that is undeniably true, but being close sometimes distorts evaluation. Those guys just aren't good. They fail the eyeball test, and they fail the analytics test.

You could argue that they built up good will knowing what these guys played through and taking the Pens to 6 and they took any positivity and lit it on fire in the last 48 hours

If they start out hot next year fans will be watching, if they stink to start they won't. If the Phillies were 8-15 instead of 15-8 it would be the same way. I am sure the 10 game losing streak turned off a lot of fans in season but then they got hot 2nd half and people were back.

Hopefully Hextall is starting to feel some pressure though, although Snider isn't around to put it on him hopefully Homer is doing it.

People weren’t back though. They didn’t even come close to selling out any playoff games despite the bogus attendance figures.

I think the lack of them selling out playoff games was because most knew they had little chance to beat the Pens. If it was the Caps they probably would have sold out. Ticket prices probably don't help.

If you already knew you wouldn't be bringing Manning back, WHY THE HELL NOT PLAY SANHEIM? I hope Travis learned a lot in the press box the last few games.

Supposedly a large number of season-ticket holder’s did not get playoff tickets.

Flyers new motto .. Trust the Rich Guys
Even if you get run over by a clown car and pissed on by a busload of school children, it's still your responsibility to interpret the meaning of the event and choose a response

go up 3-0, get completely dominated from that point on, score on a shot from the goal line to win it.
