Hockey was a close 3rd most popular for me, but I've just steadily lost interest over the past three or four years. I watched more Flyers hockey this past year than I have in a few years, and that was probably parts of 15-20 games.

There's also no real news. We are probably not going after any huge FA and we aren't going to change our leadership. I mean, if you want I will bump this thread and say fuck James Neal every day so you know that someone actually cares, but until there's news.. what's the point?

Flyers were always second for me since they were the only team you count on to be in the playoffs and do everything possible to try and win. Hextall has a longer view than Hinkie. He doesn’t kick the can down the road, he straps it to a truck going cross country

You can get good players not on 7 year deals, but it does seem myopic. Like I said before, if Tavares knocks you answer.

I'm surprised Hakstol is still the coach. He's objectively just not good at really anything. Couldn't tell anyone why he's still here.

Haven't seen enough of their games to be able to tell if he's a good coach or not, but it feels like a team with the forward talent the Flyers have should be more entertaining. I like Lavvy's teams, they played a more entertaining style I feel like.

Thread was dead during the season. There were some nights that nobody posted during a game. Hell there were nights I didn’t even know there was a game.

Was Briere the last big-time free agent we signed? I'd give Carlson a huge deal. Defenseman as good as him don't usually hit the open market. Plus we need a right-handed shooting d-man desperately.

Sounds like Tavares is working on an extension with the Islanders anyway

Yes, Cal, this is, not so eloquently, what I was trying to say.

Somehow, this team has young talent but is still incredibly boring and uninspiring.

They're just staggeringly conservative in every aspect of the game, from the front office to the on-ice product. It's like they're trying to course-correct for years of comical overaggressiveness by being as risk-averse as possible. The most exciting thing the Flyers have done in the entire Hextall era is win a lottery. They talk about how it's a youth movement, but then they constantly roadblock their young players. They don't even seem to be in the hunt for big moves anymore.

Nice to see them using a picture of a guy who will be a healthy scratch for a dozen games next year because Hakstol has to "prove a point" to TK by playing Weise

Probably will play in most of the preseason games though.
