I've been trying to get into this year draft but can't despite 2 first rounders. The Flyers just bore me to death AND still have no goalie (Carter Hart is years away from being above average if everything goes well). Really hope they do something exciting this offseason.

They won't. They will continue to draft guys, sign vets and keep it status quo. Slow and Steady, Missionary position stuff.

The young talent should be exciting, and until they prove me wrong again I will be excited to see them play. If they can get the pieces to not drag the team down (an actual 3C, non-dead weight on the bottom D pairing) they should at least have some spark.

Probably, which is so sad and so frustrating.

Apparently there are growing whispers that the Flyers may move Simmonds. This doesn't seem possible since his value is at an all time low, and the franchise seems to be bending over backwards to find a way to pay him his extension. Draft is this weekend, so we will see.

Been speculated for the last 6 months or so. I’m expecting it

I understand trading Simmonds. They are trying to line up more of their assets in the same age group (Provorev, Ghost, Konecny, Patrick). Just get value for him.

Is it even possible to get value for him anymore coming off his injuries? What am I saying? There are plenty of old school minded GMs who will love the grit and dirty play that Simmers brings. If we do trade him we need to get a player not draft picks IMO.

Anybody have any draft preferences for the Flyers this weekend? Wahlstrom seems like the goal scorer that I want but they'd have to get to like 8 to get him

No preferences but guess is they will take their BPA at both picks, don't think they will move up.

I think that's right. Last couple of years they have moved up at the end of the first or the beginning of Round 2 to get someone so I could see them trying to move up from 50 by offering later picks, future picks or previous prospect

Hextall seems to be good at finding the riser, so I expect to be confused by the 19th pick, to only later get excited about it.

I have no real knowledge of the prospects, but, from reading up on them over the past couple of months, if they don’t move anywhere, I’m looking at Denisenko, Kupari, Kravtsov, and I guess Lundestrom.

As usual I would love for them to get another RHD in the system, but I don’t love any where they are picking (Wilde at 19 would be fine, but I don’t like all the comments about lack of hockey sense). If they move down for one then Lundkvist, Merkley, Addison, and Bernard-Docker are who I want. I would really love for them to get in the back end of the top 10 and take Boqvist, Bouchard, or Dobson.

Literally just came across his name today, but taking K'Andre Miller at 19 would be interesting. He seems like he's a high upside prospect, but he's a Dman where we have actual young talent/depth so taking a risk there isn't insane.

I wish he was right handed, but yeah he wouldn’t be a bad pick at all
