FAs to look at? JVR, Carlson, Tavares, Kane. If all hit the market, prolly need to sign one. I can't see Hextall giving Carlson (or anyone) 8/70 that it'll take to sign them so I fear we are stuck.
If Simmonds is going to be dangled at the draft, attach Lehtera, Weise (OMG) or AMac (lol) and just move on.

ironically giroux played through an injury two years ago and it pretty much cost him all of last season.

Fire Hakstol. I don't know that he's awful, but he's not great. And the reluctance to play the younger players really bothers me.

-I'd let all of the UFAs go.
-Of the RFAs, Morin, Leier, Hagg and either Stolarz or Lyon should be re-upped.
-The young base of the team is taking shape and will be good. I'd push to acquire Karlsson from Ottawa. Even if it cost Ghost, two #1s and another over 25 year old vet. If that wouldn't work, I'd see what Anaheim would want for Perry. Jake for him might work. The Ducks have said that they want/need to make changes after their series loss.
-get a quality goaltender in here to fill in until Hart or Sandstrom are ready to take over. Neither Elliott or Neuvirth are the answer for a PO run which this team should be able to do next season.
-the Flyers will have cap space to play with. Hextall has to use it wisely with his acquisitions.

I know that some fans want Hakstol fired for not playing the young guys. However he has not put any of them in a position where they might fail and hurt their growth. Gudas really messed up this game. If a young guy did that, it could hurt a career. I hope that Provorov doesn't get down on himself too much after his rough turnover today. He's a warrior.

I'll never understand why people think a hockey captain is some magical position capable of lifting an entire team. Like if Coots was captain this series wouldn't have been different imo. He can't prevent bad goals or Gudas sucking ass.

My #1 priority this offseason would be Carlson, and it's really not even close. He's a 28-year-old top pair defender who's also a threat on the power play. There's hardly any other UFA defensemen on the market that provide any sort of offensive threat, and even if you play all the young guys, chances are they're not going to provide a huge offensive impact either.

You probably don't spend big on Tavares given that you have Couts and Patrick pretty much locked in as your top 2 centers for a long time and Frost eventually on the way, whether it's next year or the year after. JVR and Kane I'd be fine with, but I'm guessing they don't want to admit their mistake on JVR.

I'd be fine with getting in the Erik Karlsson sweepstakes too provided that any deal comes with an extension. Otherwise, too risky unless the price is way lower than expected.

His contribution today was a borderline cheap hit that rallied the pens.

So did Jake and they make about the same money. Lots of expensive guys no showed. These guys play a little more than a third of the game at the most it isn't a LeBron situation out there. Pinning this series loss on Giroux only is pretty dumb. He is on the list with ten other things.

I’ve mentioned Jake a few times as well during the games, he was terrible too, so was ghost, these were big time players during the season that laid eggs in the playoffs, and I haven’t seen anyone just blame giroux, but if we are calling people dumb, it’s those who aren’t including G, Jake, Ghost as reasons they lost this series
