Hope the Pirates are really bad and their attendance is dreadful.

Watched this zany old movie called Death on the Diamond that started out like a screwball baseball comedy with a little bit of gambling intrigue for some plot, then gradually turned into a semi-serious murder mystery with players being gunned down on the field and such. From a novel of the same name. Anyway while watching was thinking about how old time baseball players were basically just regular dudes and this got me thinking about my ancestry.com account and to make a long story short I've realized I can use it to stalk dead famous people. To wit, I found "George H. Ruth" from the 1930 census, living with his mother-in-law (from his second wife) as the "head of the house" at 345 W. 88th Street in Manhattan, I think in apartment 120.

I know it's not that surprising since you kind of legally have to do the census and all, but hey my own grandfather is nowhere to be found in the 1930 or 1940 census, and anyway I still think it's kinda neat. I guess I'll start looking up old time Phillies.

Along with Astros' minor leaguer Deen Deetz, though Deetz was suspended for a ped, while Singleton was taking whatever the acronym is for a performance undermining drug.

Deetz responded:

Look carefully and you’ll notice the Yankees also have a different logo on hat and shirt.
