Dallas Green is the only ex-ML pitcher turned manager I can think of off the top of my head. Are there others???
(not misreading what you wrote, it just got me thinking of the prototype manager and that pitchers ain't it)

C- Knapp, Alfaro, or veteran... 2 of the 3... trade Rupp
1b- Hoskins or Joseph... trade the other
2b- Kingery
SS- Crawford... trade Galvis
3b- Franco or Hernandez... trade the other
OF- Altherr, Quinn, Williams, Pullin, Cozens... or vets... pick who you want... I'd trade Odubel
P- Nola, Pivetta (in pencil), Eickhoff (Does he return from DL like last year), Velasquez (Or to bullpen), Lively (4th or 5th starter), Eflin, Eshelman, vets from trade or FA... lots of work to do here
RP- Ugh... rebuild
Manager- Someone new
Which CFs have a better UZR, UZR/150, or fangraphs defensive rating than odubel? I'll wait

I seem to recall last year that Mackanin whined about Odubel being more interested in walking than swinging the bat or some equally vacuous #$!&@.
I can't believe I ever stuck up for Mackanin.
I still say if you could somehow get Lenny Dykstra's hitting brain into an otherwise rational and responsible human being, he is who I would want as my hitting coach. By far the best sense of what a plate appearance is for of any player I've ever seen, and not just in how he did it, but how he would explain it if you asked him. I'd have thought Stairs would have gotten through, but it doesn't seem to be working.
I'd think seriously about hiring Abreu if I ran the team for the position of hitting coach. I don't know if he can explain it as clearly as Lenny, but he did it as well as Lenny, most of the time.
Hire Abreu, set WIP off. Two birds, one stone.

"It's hard to figure a guy who's what I consider a free swinger has shown a lot of good plate discipline," Mackanin said. "I love to see him when he draws a walk, he claps his hands and he's happy to draw a walk, which gives you a good indication of what he's all about. He's a winning player, he wants to get on base and when he does that, whether he gets on on an error or a walk, he applauds it. I'd like to have nine guys like that."
