Super Bowl MVP QB Nick Foles

He's OK. Gonna play for a long time in the NFL, but I'd put my money on more time as a backup than as a starter. He's in his third year and probably can get better. But now, he's holding back a Super Bowl contender.

secondary is more than good enough to win a championship with if you're scoring points. airzona scored 24 and 7 of those was on an illegal play(pick)

This, frankly, is BS.

They blew coverage on Brown but had been good for most of the game. Floyd didn't catch a pass, outside of Fitz's long TD on a perfectly executed pick play he was held in reasonable check. They're not great, but they're more than good enough to win if the offense doesn't blow in the red zone.

Bears and Ravens are 2 teams that come to mind as having won without great QBs.

Definitely. They left at least 14 points on the field. The Huff fumble I can overlook for now, lots of rookie WR's have issues securing the ball. The Cromartie INT was inexcusable though and 100% on Foles.

you mean the 1986 bears? or did rex grossman win one while i was blacked out for a whole year?

and joe flacco played out of his mind that playoffs, which is exactly what i mean. i said great QB play, not great QB. eli has done it twice by getting white hot for the stretch run. that's all you need

Here's the thing that's soured me on Foles. You can live with INTs and even inaccurate throws. Young QBs make them ALL the time, and it isn't necessarily fair to expect Foles to live up to what he did last year. Those things are mechanical -- on both picks, he made the right read, just bad throws. They're backbreakers, but at least you know he made the right throw.

But all of a sudden, he is cowering in the face of pressure. I don't know if that's something I've ever seen a QB recover from. He overreacts to teams just showing blitz. Bowles knew it -- look at that play to end the game last night. Bowles knew Foles was going to back up as soon as the ball was snapped, and he'd have to make an extremely low-percentage throw to win the game. How many throws did he make yesterday that had just no chance at all of being completed?

you could see the receivers getting upset at how bad his throws were. nearly anything towards the sidelines was unreachable for a WR. lotta hand gesturing

he throws at least 5 uncatchable sideline balls a game.

and that last play where he had 2 guys in the corner against one defender.... and still put the ball in a horrible location (because he was backpedaling for his life, but whatever)

i loved his 2nd half adjustment where he stopped dropping back after the snap and instead set his feet immediately. made no difference.
