Sub the player for a pick and I'd be more into that but I wanna just keep him

I would take a top 100 pick and a starting player, sure. Will Howie? Idk

Whether Howie would or wouldn't, whatever he ends up doing will be the right move. He's earned non second guessable status from me for the moment

Until I know Wentz is fully healthy and able to play I wouldn’t trade Foles, period. Can you imagine if Wentz has a setback or can’t return to his pre-injury form and you’ve traded away the QB whose stellar post season has just led you to your first SB championship ever? How insane would that be?

I'd wait at least until around the draft. You'll know more about Wentz then.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

Well we don't know how well Sudfeld would do and they could bring in a cheaper backup. The question is do you sacrifice Foles for the first few games for a great return and maybe you go 2-2 out the gate if Wentz isn't ready versus 3-1 or 4-0?

I don’t think that’s the question at all. No one can be sure right now that Wentz is going to come back and be 100%. Until I know that I’m not trading my SB MVP QB. If the risk is that his value falls a bit (although I’m not sure why it would) that’s a risk I’m willing to take to make sure I’ve got a healthy QB who is capable of leading me to another championship. To borrow Doug’s line, Super Bowl MVP QB’S don’t grow on trees.

Part of me wants Foles to leave since the SB victory would be a storybook ending to his time here.

Although it might fit his humble personality more for his tenure to end with him sticking around and being the backup, kicking ass when called upon and never making it about himself.

It comes down to whether Doug/Howie feel like their offensive system is plug and play or if they really think a high level QB is required to make the offense tick.

If Wentz is healthy to start the season would you let Foles take the first snap or at least get in the first game of the season.

I would actually mix Foles in here and there all year. If he wants to stay we should throw him a bone.

This guy really is one of the most important athletes in our lifetimes as Philly sports fans. There is no way to feel neutral about the man. I remember thinking he was actively bad. And the computerlike excellence in the biggest game of his life after years of mediocrity. Unexpected and honesty inspiring. I have no idea what it means or whether it means anything but it was amazing and deserving of respect

He even looked like a different guy physically those last 6 quarters of the szn. You remember years of this stiff guy looking bad throwing into coverage where his arm strength could be exposed. But he was just out there ripping it from a noticeably lower arm slot. Throwing early with anticipation and decisiveness and confidence really just swagger. He looked like baker Mayfield or college Manziel or even a yung Phil rivers just carving you up without the rocket arm

even on top of that was his pocket presence. i watched one of the miced up re-broadcasts and it seemed like the entire 4th quarter he was under some sort of pressure. his 4th and 1 throw to Ertz was fucking magical how he side stepped a rusher then back footed a dime to Ertz.

And he did all of it while it became increasingly clear as the game went on that he HAD to move them down the field and score on every possession because the defense was not going to stop Brady. Really simply amazing poise, leadership and execution under the most pressure imaginable.

New proposal

Nick gets a guaranteed 5 yr / 5mm deal as QB coach with assurances that he'll be OC if reich leaves

We restructure his current deal to pay him out 20mm in a one time payment (howie will figure out cap)

Harris gives him some LP interests in Apollo global fund xviii
