Well he would have been if not for the Giants benching him needlessly one game short of the record.

Isn't that how Kurt Warner got in?

Yeah, Warner had the greatest show on turf years, the MVPs and then kind of disappeared for a while, but then had that great second act in Arizona. He was great from 99-2001 then totally fell off a cliff in 2002 and was pretty sucky until 2008-9 and then retired. Weird career. in 2002 Warner went 0-6 and Marc Bulger went 6-1 and the rams finished 7-9 after finishing 14-2 with Warner winning the MVP.

Warner is what HOFs are made for though, incredible story and at his peak (of which he had multiple) he was unstoppable.

Warner retired with the three highest-yardage passing totals in Super Bowl history, in the only three he played (Brady is now 1-2 after the last two years)

Worth noting that tom Brady had the game of his life and it wasn't enough to beat nick Foles.

Yards wise yes, but he did get a lot of empty yards in that game and if you believe PFF I think they had him ranked as 15th best player in the game. Some of the throws he made easily could have been picked. Foles was ranked #1. The last play before the half he got a ton of yards on a little dump off and that last drive he got probably 40 when the eagles were giving him the short passes to Gronk.

Keeping Foles on the Eagles won't be about money, or not just about money. Every athlete worth anything wants to start, at all levels. It seems likely that at the highest level, the desire to start is even stronger. And there are plenty of NFL teams that will gladly give Foles wheel barrows of money and a starting job. Sure, the Eagles can keep in for a year and then let him walk. But that doesn't seem like Roseman's style.

That plus I truly think Doug/Howie think Sudfeld could put up numbers in this offense if needed for the first few games (Or another cheaper backup).

Not sure I would say that so casually, especially for a guy who almost retired and just reached the pinnacle of his sport.

Nor can I say that finding a backup QB who can even approach Foles is just a matter of plug and play, nor that anyone can be certain that Carson Wentz will return fully healthy, stay healthy and be able to produce at or above his pre-injury level.
