Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was a little taken aback Wednesday when informed of defensive end Greg Hardy's curious choice of words to describe his return from a four-game suspension stemming from a domestic violence charge.
"I hope I come out guns blazing," Hardy told reporters Tuesday.
It was an odd statement to make, considering that automatic weapons were part of the alleged assault that occurred in May 2014 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
"Oh my goodness," Jones told SI.com when informed of Hardy's remarks.
Jones, who is attending the NFL owners meetings in New York, then paused before continuing.
"Well, you're not allowed to have guns on the football field," Jones, who turns 72 next week, told SI.com. "We all know that's just a way of expressing yourself. I hope his guns are ablazin'."
"I love seeing Tom Brady," Hardy said Wednesday. "He's cool as crap. Have you seen his wife? I hope she comes to the game. I hope her sister comes to the game, all her friends come to the game."
Jones' reaction to Hardy's comment?
"When I saw him marry [Gisele], Tom went up in my eyes 100 percent," Jones told SI.com. "She's very very attractive, and it shows what an outstanding individual Tom is."

Another note, Dallas hasn't forced a turnover since our back-to-back handovers in the 4th quarter (three full games ago)...Kelce-Bradford snap fiasco followed by Ertz deflected INT
On the day he lost his job as the Dallas Cowboys' starting running back, Joseph Randle unexpectedly left the team's Valley Ranch facility, but sources say there is more going on than just a change in role.
Randle is expected to meet with the coaches Thursday, according to sources.

I'm not gonna hold the Lael Collings thing aginst Chip. The guy had some crazy stuff going on. Dal is like the Raiders now. They don't care. 20-20 hindsight a lot of clubs passed oon a 1st round talent. I'm not faulting the team for that situation. I hate that our rival benefits and we're depleted in that area - but this one I can't blame our org or Chip.
